We launched our 10th year of Go Red For Women with an amazing National Wear Red Day on February 1. In the Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, we had 52 Go Red events, nearly 700 workplaces and 60 television news teams wearing red, 12 casting calls and more than 130 million media impressions. Two of our “signature activities” continued to grow in the MAA and were adopted in several other affiliates as well; “Babies Go Red”- where newborns are dressed in red knitted hats and their mothers receive heart health information, and “Paint the Town Red”- where streets of storefronts paint red dresses on their windows and create red displays. The energy and the impact were obvious in the news stories, pictures and the social media posts that day, and we hope to continue that momentum throughout the month.
