On February 21, advocates from across the state gathered in Columbia for our annual South Carolina Lobby Day. The day was an overwhelming success with 29 advocates in attendance, a total of 385 face to face meetings with lawmakers, and 106 informational drop-offs to legislators that did not have a constituent with us that day. Our two main asks for the day included, support for our Stroke Systems of Care Regulations, and support of Quality out of School time programs.
Thank you to all of our advocates who helped further our policy efforts in South Carolina. And check out some of the photo highlights below!
- Midlands Board Member, Stacey Derrick, and CSRA Board Member, Pastor Paul Bush, join forces to lobby for healthier policies in SC.
- Upstate volunteers and staff speak with Representative Mike Anthony about supporting local AHA policies.
Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. For nearly 100 years, we’ve been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish quality of life. We want to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
