As part of a year-long campaign to raise awareness about the importance of calling 911 at the first signs of a stroke, the AHA put together a photoshoot featuring local stroke survivors, including two military veterans. With those photos, we created billboards, print ads, and social media posts. For American Stroke Month we put up four billboards in Norfolk and four in Chesapeake, ran print PSAs in The Health Journal, and raised awareness on AHA Hampton Roads social media platforms.
Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. For nearly 100 years, we’ve been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish quality of life. We want to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
