We’re excited to share some big wins for the Mid-Atlantic Affiliate this month! Last Thursday, South Carolina advocates and staff celebrated as Governor Nikki Haley signed legislation requiring CPR training as part of the high school health education curriculum, making South Carolina the 30th state to do so. The law will be known as Ronald Rouse’s Law, named for the Hartsville High School football player that died on the field during a football game in 2012.
Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. For nearly 100 years, we’ve been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish quality of life. We want to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
