AHA and Johns Hopkins celebrate their lifesaving partnership

Last week, American Heart Association Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Executive Vice President Jeremy Beauchamp, AHA Mid-Atlantic Board President Wayne Rosamond, PhD and Board Chair Stuart Smith, and Baltimore Executive Director Yvette Mingo presented a check representing $10,244,838 in active research awards to The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System President Ron Peterson, PhD and Johns Hopkins Chief of Cardiology and immediate past AHA National Board President Gordon Tomaselli, MD. 


<!– –>In the last ten years the American Heart Association has funded 271 research projects totaling more than $31 million to Johns Hopkins.   Johns Hopkins has partnered locally on several AHA programs like Check. Change. Control. blood pressure program, Get With The Guidelines and the Power To End Stroke.  Many current and past AHA National and local volunteer leaders have been from Johns Hopkins as well, and the partnership is making a difference in the heart health of Baltimore and people worldwide.
