Sherwin-Williams generously donated red paint and brushes to the American Heart Association in Hampton Roads and will allow red dresses to be painted at 25 of their locations. Volunteers for the American Heart Association, many of whom are women heart disease and stroke survivors, will be painting red dresses on windows across the area in February in an effort to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women. Free information about how to make healthy choices and prevent heart disease will be given to customers and patrons at these locations throughout the month.

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease affects one in three female adults and continues to be the leading cause of death in women. Go Red for Women celebrates the energy, passion and power that women have and can use to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke. More women die from heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases than men, yet many women do not realize they are at risk.
